History

'Gabriel' overthrows god by gaining his trust, where he then uses the alternate infection to make 'humanity' attone for their sins after the apple was eaten by adam and eve.

goverments, councils, etc. blame the infection on carnivore diet as to lessen panic and cover up the truth (this works as things like kuru and cannibalism are seen in infected carnivores more than herbivores)

COVID-like restrictions are set for everyone, but not enforced well

polics are legally told to ignore all infection related calls

part 1

Torres is infected following an attack from his own brother in an attempt to protect his mother, which doesnt exactly work

Torres flees home to live with Mark, supposedly temporarily

Torres shows early infection signs, so Mark locks him outside in the could for HOURS until the growths stop moving

Notes

• surprisingly, the infection CAN be removed in early stages through freezing or simply cutting off the growths. However this is only applicable during the 'early' stages, as the growths will eventually root into the nervous system.
• butterflies and gnats were chosen as the main virus carriers since: Butterfliesa re seen as 'innocent', and in the bible God used gnats to show his power.
