no matter how much I'll watch this film, it never gets old.
honestly this watch was WAY more positive than my first- I had the whole cinema to myself and the IMAX really immerses you into the film.
I also feel that I have a better understanding of this film! I'm no longer weirded out by the nudity because its expected of Denji to have thoughts like that due to his trauma and upbringing.
Even in the pool or fight scenes where Reze is naked, its not done in a distasteful manner, so if the first thing that comes to your mind in these scenes is "ew! naked= gross!" then you either are a puritan or can't understand artistic nudity.
(yes I'm aware I literally complained about that last review. I tend to have my opinion skewed A LOT depending on who I watch my media with)
One thing I also noticed was that the dub took some freedom and added WAY more swearing. Denji seems more disrespectful, but in the end its just a localization thing.
Once again the score was amazing and reallt tugs at your heart. I don't usually like soundtracks and prefer vocals, but COME ON. In the pool is one of the best soundtrack pieces Ive ever heard, next to Madness:Project Nexus 2 and Evangelion even.
Hachi also did AMAZING with his into/outro song work! I was genuinely dancing in my seat when his songs came on- Which were definitely made WAY more catchier thanks to the IMAX sound systems.
but yeah! the only negative I have was concerning myself- whcih was that I was too muhc of a pussy to take a photo of the akiangel scenes.
but thats okay! Its basic theatre ettequite to keep your phone off, and it helps your immersion and understanding when you dont have access to distractions.
(additionally, I was going to have a THIRD watch of this film in cinemas, but thanks to college and bus strikes I cant :/)
